Who We Are

We are Tribal Elder Productions: a not-for-profit documentary film company, documenting the compelling voices of LGBTQ people as they speak their lives, their history, their spirituality, mythology, creativity, culture, and politics. We invite you into our work, to enjoy it, to meditate on it, to Dance with it, and to make it your own. We hope it is transformative work and that it will change the lives of those who view it in a way that will bring about a consciousness of a higher Self. This is our work---to change the world, not just to a place of complete acceptance of LGBTQ people, but to a place of celebration of a magnificent and resilient people. LGBTQ lives are built not only on the pain, suffering, grief, and loss from a holocaust of enormous proportions from HIV/AIDS in the 1980's and 90's, as well as centuries of oppression from both Western and Eastern religious and secular heterosexist culture, but also on triumph, joy, altruism, love, non-violence, and peace. We welcome you to the world of LGBTQ people. Welcome to a great Myth. It is the Myth of an ancient people, a people with special gifts to give to creation, a people whose extraordinary talents are offered to humanity, a people who help give color to the world. It is the voices of LGBTQ people that Tribal Elder Productions wishes to present. This is the work we as filmmakers have been given to do and to which we are committed; we hope to do it with humility and love and to do it well.
